Mobile Modular Alternatives for Factory Quote Comparison

ArcSpan Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. A search for mobile modular can start a project, yet the desk does not claim authorized dealer status and does not offer the referenced brand. Buyers use this page to set the brief that later quotations have to follow.

Write the occupancy, the module dimensions, and whether the unit is temporary, relocatable, or intended to remain. Add the authority having jurisdiction before anyone treats a catalog photo as a code answer. Wind speed, ground snow load, and seismic design category belong in that same note when the project team already has them. Leave them marked unknown when the site data is still open.

Separate shell, delivered, installed, and turnkey responsibility. A number that covers a primary frame and floor only cannot sit beside a number that also covers foundation interface, stairs, HVAC, and commissioning. Quantity and destination decide the transport envelope and who unloads the module.

  2. Module dimensions and clear height
  3. Wind, snow, and seismic criteria
  4. Code jurisdiction
  5. Quantity of modules or buildings
  6. Destination and unloading duty

What the brief has to lock before prices are compared

These six checks are buyer tasks. They are not a claim that a plant, a certificate, or a delivery date is already held by this desk.

Occupancy

Name office, classroom, storage, restroom, or training use, plus the headcount the plan must support.

Module dimensions

Record length, width, and eave height in feet or meters, including the transport envelope if the route is tight.

Design loads

Ask for design live load, design dead load, wind exposure category, and ground snow load in psf when the site is known.

Jurisdiction

IBC, IRC, or another adopted edition applies only after the project address is named. HUD Code is a different path.

Scope line

Mark primary frame, purlin and girt, insulated metal panel, doors, and MEP as included, excluded, or still open.

Evidence pack

Request drawings, calculations, and the standard the supplier says applies, such as ASCE 7, AISC 360, or AWS D1.1, for that system.

Inquiry options in Modular and Portable Buildings

The cards below match the catalog families a buyer can name in a brief. They are inquiry options, not inventory and not a compatibility certificate for any referenced brand. Open a card to place that family into the requirement form, or review the full set on Building Options.

Applications that change the purchase brief

Shell scope and turnkey scope are opposing quote boundaries, not two names for one price. A shell leaves foundation, utilities, and much of the interior with the buyer. A turnkey request still needs exclusions written out, because local permits and site work often stay outside the building package. Volumetric modular construction moves more finish off site and makes the transport envelope critical. Panelized construction can pack flatter and then exposes more assembly to weather on site.

Request factory quotes on one written scope

Send the use, dimensions, jurisdiction, quantity, and destination. The desk will ask suppliers to price that same basis. Compliance, availability, and price remain open until those replies name the system and the project.
